Description:

Mile High Companions is seeking a detail-oriented, animal-loving Executive Assistant to streamline and support daily operations. You’ll work closely with the founder to manage schedules, coordinate with pet care professionals, and ensure a smooth client experience as we scale.  You will also be the voice and heart behind our  communications. You’ll serve as the bridge between pet parents and our team—making sure every inquiry, booking, and follow-up reflects the love and care we bring to every visit. You will be responsible to grow and engage our online community through our Instagram and Reels, help launch campaigns like “Beyond the Breed”, and spotlight the unique pets we serve and places we explore.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily logistics and manage sitter availability.

• Match clients with the right pet care professional based on needs.

• Maintain internal systems for bookings, service delivery, and client satisfaction.

• Support the hiring, onboarding, and training of new contractors.

• Analyze service trends and provide performance reports.

• Respond to client inquiries via email, chat, and phone.

• Assist with bookings and account setup.

• Send pre-visit reminders and post-visit check-ins.

• Collect feedback and testimonials.

• Manage CRM systems and automate customer follow-ups.

• Plan, design, and schedule posts (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook).

• Create engaging Reels, carousels, and behind-the-scenes content.

• Write captions, develop brand-aligned templates in Canva.

• Monitor engagement and respond to comments/messages.

• Collaborate on marketing strategy for partnerships and promotions.

Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience in operations, scheduling, or team coordination.

• Friendly, organized, and customer-service oriented.

• Organized, tech-savvy, and calm under pressure.

• Passionate about pets and providing high-quality service.

• Experience in pet care or small business is a bonus.​

• Experience in admin, hospitality, or customer success roles.

• Strong writing skills and attention to detail.

• A love for animals and comfort talking about their care.

• Experience managing social media for a brand or business.

• Proficient in Canva and scheduling tools (e.g. Later, Buffer).

• Eye for aesthetic, storytelling, and community building.

• Pet care or local Denver knowledge is a huge plus.

Bookkeeper/Accountant

Location: Remote

Type: Freelance / Monthly Contract

Services: Monthly reports, expense tracking, EFTPS payments

Rate: $150–$300/month

Description:

Mile High Companions is looking for a reliable Bookkeeper / Accountant to keep our growing pet care business financially healthy and compliant. You’ll manage basic bookkeeping, categorize expenses, and help with quarterly tax payments.

Responsibilities:

• Track income and expenses.

• Maintain up-to-date books in QuickBooks, Wave, or similar.

• Prepare monthly financial reports.

• Assist with EFTPS tax payments and 1099s.

• Offer advisory support for future S-Corp transition.

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience with small business bookkeeping or pet service providers.

• Knowledge of Colorado tax laws and IRS compliance for sole proprietors.

• Detail-oriented, proactive, and discreet.

• Comfortable communicating financial insights to non-finance folks.

Legal & Compliance Advisor

Location: Remote / As-Needed / Contract-Based

Estimated Use: 2–5 hours/month (average)

Description:

As we grow, Mile High Companions needs a knowledgeable Legal & Compliance Advisor to keep our agreements, policies, and insurance aligned with industry standards. You’ll help protect our brand, our team, and the pets we serve.

Responsibilities:

• Draft and review client service agreements and contractor contracts.

• Provide legal guidance on pet care liability and local regulations.

• Review business insurance policies and state compliance.

• Offer counsel on partnerships and future expansions (e.g. coffeehouse concept).

Ideal Candidate:

• JD or paralegal experience with small business or pet industry clients.

• Familiarity with CO business law and independent contractor standards.

• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Volunteer Systems Modeling Analyst
(MBSE Support)

Time Commitment: Flexible | ~5–10 hours/week | Remote

Duration: Minimum 100 hours committed, ideally building toward 1,000+ hour track

About the Role:

Mile High Companions is looking for a values-aligned systems thinker to support early-stage systems architecture using MBSE practices (SysML/Cameo). This is a unique opportunity to co-shape a mission-driven service model while gaining experience in applied systems design for human-centered services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate on the architecture and modeling of service operations using SysML

• Develop and refine internal block diagrams, activity diagrams, and use case models

• Assist in validating business logic against functional and non-functional requirements

• Document model evolution and contribute to the style guide

• Participate in virtual check-ins and async updates

• Familiarity with MBSE tools (Cameo Systems Modeler preferred)
